Dreamgate Cenote

Cenote Dreamgate

If you are an seasoned diver and have done some other cavern dives with us, you may be ready to explore Dreamgate. Dreamgate is a part of Sac Actun system, perhaps the largest underground river systems in the world. Many describe the Cenote Dreamgate as the most beautiful cavern in the world. If you are interested in seeing that sort of a thing, this is the cenote for you.

Cenote Dreamgate is featured in many documentaries, including the BBC Documentary ‘Secrets of the Maya Underworld’. The dive is not deep (30 feet/ 9 meters) but it is darker and renders a taste of cave diving.

You will not find many divers there since only skilled divers can dive here. You will get to have this incredible experience away from the crowds.

Cenote Dreamgate is filled with thousands of spectacular formations, You will feel the sensation of flying through a sleeping metropolis made of bewitching stalactites, stalagmites and giant columns.

Halfway into the our journey we will surface in a giant air dome with rays of lights penetrating through openings in the ceiling. The air pocket has a fully decorated ceiling, mirroring it's submerged formations. The air dome is full of flying bats and you might also find blind fish along the way. Adding to the mystery are numerous tree roots penetrating the cave and dipping into the water.

After your dive, you can congratulate yourself and think about taking the Sidemount course. Sidemount course is the gateway to a new world of cave diving.
