Advanced Adventure Diver Course
The SDI Advanced Adventurer Diver course is the perfect next step to help certified divers gain experience, explore different types of diving, and build confidence through a variety of specialty dives. This course introduces you to new underwater adventures while helping you improve your diving skills in a fun and supportive environment.
The course can be done in cenotes and ocean dive sites around Playa del Carmen, offering excellent visibility and a wide range of diving conditions perfect for exploring new specialties.
Course Topics Include:
Navigation and underwater compass use
Deep diving techniques and planning (to a max depth of 30m/100ft)
Advanced buoyancy control and body positioning
Night diving, limited visibility, or light usage
Wreck diving awareness and basic procedures
Marine life identification and environmental awareness
Introductory experience in 5 different specialty areas
Course Structure:
Academic Sessions: Covering dive planning, specialty dive theory, safety procedures, and equipment considerations
Open Water Dives: 5 dives in different specialty areas, allowing you to experience a range of dive types and build new skills under the supervision of an instructor
Prerequisites:
Minimum age: 12 years old
Minimum certification: SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent
Certification Outcome:
Upon successful completion, divers will earn the SDI Advanced Adventurer certification. This course allows you to dive in a variety of conditions up to a depth of 30 meters/100 feet and is an excellent way to discover which specialties interest you most. Recommended follow-up courses include Deep Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox and SDI Sidemount.
